Sinopsis: Una mujer transgénero china, empleada en un cabaret de Chengdu, recibe la inesperada visita de su prima, que le comunica el fallecimiento de su madre, de quien se había distanciado tiempo atrás. Siendo el único “varón” de la familia, se ve moralmente obligada a regresar a su pueblo natal para organizar el funeral, aunque para ello deba ocultar su verdadera identidad a parientes y vecinos.
Synopsis: Working at a nightclub in Chengdu, a transgender Chinese woman receives an unexpected visit from her cousin, informing her that the mother she has brushed aside, has died. As the only «son», she feels obligated to return to her birthplace for the sake of her family, even though she’ll have to hide her true self from those that once shared her past.

Biografía: Roberto F. Canuto es natural de Gijón, Asturias, graduado en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y Xu Xiaoxi es de Chengdu, China, graduado en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Nelson Mandela de Port Elizabeth (Sudáfrica). Comenzaron su colaboración en 2008 en un Master de dirección en la ‘New York Film Academy’ de los Estudios Universal en Los Angeles. Entre sus premiados trabajos , sus producciones en EEUU, “Toto Forever” o el largometraje “Desire Street”, en China: “Ni Jing: No Robarás”, “Sandía amarga” y “Ciruela de agua dulce” y en España el corto “Ad-vientu”. Son fundadores de la productora ?Almost Red Prod.’ y trabajan entre España y China.
Biography: Roberto F. Canuto is a filmmaker from Asturias, Spain, graduated in Audiovisual Communications from Complutense University (Madrid) and Xu Xiaoxi is a director from Chengdu, China, graduated with a Fine Arts degree from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa. They start collaborating in 2008, in a Master of Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy of Universal Studios in Los Angeles. Among their awarded films, the American productions: “Toto Forever” and the feature “Desire Street”, the Chinese productions “Ni Jing: Thou Shalt Not Steal”, ”Floating Melon” and “Sunken Plum». In Spain they co-directed the also awarded short “Advent”. Founders of the production company ‘Almost Red Prod’, they work currently between Spain and China.
