Sinopsis: La PrEP ha supuesto un antes y un después en la batalla contra el VIH/sida. La nueva pastilla de prevención para el VIH ya es un gran éxito en Estados Unidos, pero muchos países europeos están dudando. Países Bajos es uno de esos países y en el documental, tres participantes de ese país durante un ensayo con PrEP en Ámsterdam hablan honestamente sobre la pastilla de prevención del VIH y los efectos en su vida sexual. En el a veces divertido y a veces emotivo documental, vemos lo bueno y lo malo de la PrEP. Y escuchamos las opiniones de los expertos. ¿Es la PrEP una pastilla milagrosa o una pastilla para salir de fiesta?

Synopsis: PrEP is a game changer in the battle against HIV/Aids. The new HIV prevention pill is in the USA already a huge success, but many countries in Europe are hesitating. The Netherlands is one of those countries. In the documentary PrEP&ME, the first long documentary about PrEP in the Netherlands, three participants in an Amsterdame experiment with PrEP talk honestly about the HIV prevention pill and the effect of it on their (sex) life. In this sometimes funny and emotional documentary we see the good and bad things about PrEP. And we hear the opinions of experts. Is PrEP a miracle pill or a party pill?

Biografía: Tim Dekkers comenzó en los 80’s como reportero para el periódico nacional neerlandés Trouw. Se fue en 1988 a la televisión nacional. Durante muchos años, ha sido un conocido y respetado periodista. Desde 2005 hasta 2010, fue un corresponsal independiente en Sidney (Australia). En la última década, Dekkers fue propietario de la agencia de medios Onderste-Boven. PrEP&ME es el primer documental que produce, graba y edita él solo. Fue proyectado tres veces en la 20ª edición del Pink Film Festival en Ámsterdam y fue todo un éxito. PrEP&ME viajó internacionalmente con proyecciones en Uruguay, Brasil y Alemania.

Biography: Tim Dekkers started in the eighties as a reporter for the Dutch national newspaper Trouw. He switched in 1988 to national television. For many years, he was a well known and respected journalist. From 2005 till 2010 he was a freelance correspondent in Sydney, Australia. The last decade, Dekkers was owner of his Media Office Onderste-Boven. PrEP&ME is the first documentary he produced, filmed and edited himself. It was shown three times during the 20th Roze Filmdagen in Amsterdam (Pink Film Festival) and was a success. PrEP&ME went internationally, with screenings in the USA, Uruguay, Brazil and Germany (Hannover, Cologne, Dortmund).
