Ayat Najafi nació en Teherán en 1976 y reside en Irán. Estudió diseño de escenarios y decorados en Teherán, donde participó en diferentes producciones teatrales como director, autor, actor y diseñador de decorados. Después de finalizar sus estudios en 2001, realizó varios cortos y participó en el campus de talentos de la Berninale en 2005. "Football Under Cover" es su primer largometraje.
David Assmann nació en 1978. Es el segundo de cinco hermanos y estudió en Berlín, Heidelberg, Jerusalén, Santa Mónica y Konstanz. Desde 2001, ha estudiado cine en la Universidad de Mainz, una serie de contenidos que mezclan elementos teóricos y prácticos del mundo del cine y el teatro. Durante este tiempo, también ha trabajado como editor, DJ y presentador del programa mensual “Kinoscop” en Radio Ruesselsheim. Football Under Cover es su primer largometraje.
Biography:
Ayat Najafi was born in Teheran in 1976 and lives in Iran. He studied Stage and Set Design in Teheran, where participated in a number of different theatrical productions asdirector, author, actor and set designer. After completing his studies in 2001, he made several short films and took part in the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2005. "Football Under Cover" is his first full-length film.
David Assmann was born in 1978 as the second of five children and went to school in Berlin, Heidelberg, Jerusalem, Santa Monica and Konstanz. Since 2001, he has studied film studies at the University of Mainz, a course of studies, which brings together theoretical and practical elements from film and theatre studies. Throughout his studies, he has also worked as editor, DJ and presenter on the monthly “Kinoscop” programme on Radio Ruesselsheim. Football Under Cover is his first full-length film.

| Sinopsis: | Abril de 2006 en Teherán. Se celebra el primer partido amistoso entre el equipo de fútbol femenino iraní y un equipo femenino local de Berlín, ante más de 1000 aficionadas. Todo el estadio deslumbra, lleno de alta tensión femenina. Un par de hombres se pasean por las puertas, intentando entrever algo por encima de la verja de entrada. Ellos no pueden acceder al campo hoy. Estos dos equipos de chicas jóvenes han trabajado durante un año para conseguir este objetivo. Y ahora, tras superar numerosos obstáculos, ya están jugando. Aquí se expresan alto y claro sus deseos de autodeterminación e igualdad: el cambio es posible. |
| Synopsis: | Tehran in April 2006: The first official friendly match takes place between the Iranian women’s football team and a local Berlin girl’s team, in front of more than 1000 cheering female fans. The entire stadium is electric, charged with a high voltage of girl power. A couple of men hang around in front of the gates, trying to sneak a peek over the fence. They are barred from entering today.
It has taken a year’s hard work on the parts of both teams of young women to make this happen. But now, after overcoming numerous obstacles, they are really playing. Both the desire for self-determination and equality are being expressed here and it is clear: change is possible. |
