La directora y guionista Shamim Sarif es una de las pocas mujeres renacentistas de los últimos años. Es igualmente una autora, directora y guionista de éxito, además de una destacada letrista.
Novelista aclamada, Shamim tiene raíces en Sudáfrica, una herencia que inspiró su primera novela, la galardonada "The World Unseen". The Times la describió como “un impresionante debut”. La historia de Sarif reúne el poder descriptivo de novelista con la maestría de los diálogos de guionista.
Su segunda novela, "Despite the Falling Snow", la publicó Hodder en Londres. Shamim ha adaptado esta historia conmovedora que tiene lugar durante la guerra fría rusa y el actual Estados Unidos a un guión cinematográfico. Sharif estará al mando de la dirección que Enlightenment Productions está preparando para su producción en 2009.
Biography:
Writer/director Shamim Sarif is one of the rare renaissance women of recent years. She is an equally successful author, screenwriter and film director. She is also a notable author of music lyrics.
An acclaimed novelist, Shamim has deep roots in South Africa, a heritage that inspired her first, award-winning novel, 'The World Unseen'. The Times in London called it "an impressive debut. Sarif's story brings together the descriptive power of the novelist with the screenwriter's mastery of dialogue."
Her second novel, 'Despite the Falling Snow' was published in London by Hodder. Shamim has adapted this moving tale set in cold war Russia and present day United States into a screenplay. The picture will be helmed by Sarif and is being prepared for production by Enlightenment Productions in 2009.
