Sinopsis:

Synopsis:

When we talk about creating good characters for narrative experiences, one of the first things that are deemed necessary to think about are archetypes. The archetypes appear again and again in all the stories we see in literature, films and videogames; the audience can recognize certain features and characteristics according to the characters and their role in the story. The archetypes are linked unilaterally to stereotypes.

The LGBT + community has been represented in cinema in many different ways, showing different aspects of what the community means in the audiovisual world. For example, the archetype of the queer villain born in the 30s and 40s with the ‘cinema noir’, it is now represented in the exact same way in videogames as it was in the cinema.

As the representation of the LGTB+ communnity in cinema has evolved, videogames have followed the same path taking those references when creating characters and narratives, but including at the same time, the interactivity that a videogame implies, as a resource to deepen in some aspects that otherwise would be impossible.  Through a series of examples in which LGBTI archetypes and stereotypes are shown in  the cinema and how they have been translated into videogames, it is intended to connect these two worlds that today influence each other and are so necessary to show the realities that we have as a community.
