Sinopsis: Xolani, un solitario obrero de una fábrica se une a los hombres de su comunidad en las montañas de la zona oriental para iniciar a un grupo de adolescentes en la hombría. Cuando uno de estos jóvenes, desafiante de la ciudad descubre su secreto mejor guardado, la existencia entera de Xolani se comienza a revelar.

Synopsis: Xolani, a lonely factory worker, joins the men of his community in the mountains of the Eastern Cape to initiate a group of teenage boys into manhood. When a defiant initiate from the city discovers his best kept secret, Xolani’s entire existence begins to unravel.

Biografía: John Trengove, guionista y director originario de Johannesburgo. Master en Bellas Artes por la universidad de Nueva York. Su carrera abarca teatro, cine, televisión, documentales, anuncios y cortometrajes. John es sobretodo conocido por su conocida miniserie “Hopeville” que recibió el premio Rose d’Or al mejor drama y nominada a los Emmy Internacional. Dirige teatro alternativo en su tiempo libre (incluido su éxito de culto “The Epicene Butcher”) y el área de desarrollo de Urucu Media.

Biography: John Trengove is a Johannesburg based writer/director with an MFA in film from New York University. His career spans theatre, television, documentary, commercials and short film. A Loerie and SAFTA recipient, John is best known for his acclaimed miniseries Hopeville that received the Rose d’Or for best drama and was nominated for an International Emmy. John directs fringe theatre in his spare time (including the cult hit The Epicene Butcher) and heads up the development wing of Urucu Media.
