Sinopsis: Después del fallo de las cortes para la eliminación de la famosa ley anti-gay, comúnmente conocida como “matar al gay”, los defensores de los derechos LGBTI respiraron aliviados, mientras la cólera pública se reactivó. El documental muestra los esfuerzos del Gobierno por restar poder a la comunidad LGBTI, mientras las masas deciden tomar la ley por sus manos, con absoluta impunidad. Las personas LGBTI viven su día a día con enormes carencias en comida, vivienda y sanidad. En ocasiones, mueren en manos de una multitud cabreada.

Synopsis: After the scrape off of the famous anti-gay bill, commonly known as the “kill the gay” bill, by the court ruling, advocates and the LGBTI community were provided relief, while public wrath was reignited. This documentary depicts the government’s endeavors to disfranchise the LGBTI community with laws, as the masses decide to take the law in their own hands with IMPUNITY. Thus, living the LGBTI pocket-sized experience of food, housing, and health care and sometimes losing their lives at the hands of the angry mob.

Biografía: Isaac Matovu es un guionista ugandés, director, productor, radiodifusor y activista por los derechos humanos. La injusticia social reinante en el mundo le obligó a orientar sus esfuerzos hacia obras visuales que apelan a una relación justa entre el individuo y la sociedad. En 2015, Isaac escribió el primer largometraje LGBTI de Uganda, titulado OUTED. Aunque la película fue rechazada para su proyección en los cines locales, los productores de la misma organizaron algunos pequeños pases para audiencias previamente seleccionadas. La película ganó el Premio Internacional de Derechos Humanos Barbara Gittings.

Biography: Isaac Matovu is and Ugandan film writer, Director, Producer, Broadcaster and Humans Rights Activist. The prevailing socio injustice in the world today compelled him to gear his efforts to visual works that advocate for fair and just relation between the individual and society. In 2015, Isaac wrote the Ugandan first LGBTI drama title OUTED, though the film was denied a chance to be screened at local theatres, the makers of this film managed to arrange small screenings for selected audiences. The film also went further to win the Barbara Gittings International Human Rights Award.
